Business Law
My office handles various matters for businesses. I have
reviewed, negotiated and litigated various business contracts, non-compete
agreements, employment issues and sales problems. Furthermore, I am able
to assist you in starting up your new business.
What is a Non-compete
agreement?
Generally, a Non-compete agreement is a contract (usually
found in a employment or termination/separation agreement) that says that you
agree that you will not compete with your employer by engaging in any business
of a similar nature. The non-compete may limit you from working in the
same field and may restrict where and how far you may engage in the particular
business.
An employer might ask an employee to sign a non-compete when
an employee is hired or during the employment or possibly when an employee
leaves his/her job.
There are important legal consequences in whether you decide
to sign a non-compete and you may want to retain an attorney to help review
and negotiate any non-compete language.
